Upcoming Events

The Cocoon hosts several events throughout the year to raise awareness about our services and funding to support programs for survivors.

Our fundraising events offer guests an opportunity to learn more about the agency while financially supporting critical programs and services. Sponsorship opportunities are available and include partnership recognition, priority seating, and more. Net proceeds from our fundraising events are put directly back into supporting programs and services that reach more than 800 survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and their children, each year.

Inside the Impact

Community Event

The next Inside the Impact live is scheduled for September 9th, at 6:00 p.m. This quarter’s edition will feature Board Member Atonn Smeltzer and Executive Director Kathy Mull discussing legacy giving and the benefits, for those who qualify, of qualified charitable deductions (QCDs) made from annual required minimum distributions.

Wood County Clothesline Project

Community Event

Join us Thursday, September 24th, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Taylor Hyundai of Perrysburg for a viewing of the Wood County Clothesline Project. This display features t-shirts created survivors of domestic and sexual violence, or by loved ones of those who have passed due to interpersonal violence in Wood County. Each shirt tells a story through their own words and expression.

Taylor Hyundai of Perrysburg will provide complementary food and drinks for attendees, and members of The Cocoon staff will be available to discuss the display with anyone who wishes to learn more.

We invite you to join us as we center survivor voices, raise awareness, come together in community, and help kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month which starts October 1st.

Kaleidoscope: An Evening Celebrating Hope and Creativity

Annual Community Event

The Cocoon invites you to join us as we celebrate 21 years of serving our community. This thoughtfully curated art show will feature a live painting demonstration by local artist Ambz of Hysteria Co., whose trauma-informed work explores color and form. Pieces from local and national artists experienced in a variety of mediums will be available for auction, with proceeds supporting programs and services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. The event will include a cash bar and heavy appetizer grazing throughout the evening.
